In the Yogic tradition, sound is used for transformation. For thousands of years, the great Yogis have used mantra and chanting to still the mind, align one’s breath and body, and rise into clarity, strength, and love for Life.

At Sat Manav Yoga Ashram, mantra is woven into everything we do—from our sunrise practice, to chanting at the sacred Dhuni fire, to the evening mantra and meditation that close each day. This is the way of Nāda Yoga, the Yoga of inner sound—a path laid down by the Rishis, the wisest sages to walk this Earth.

Their chants carry frequencies of healing, discipline, joy, and growth—real tools for reshaping your life. This retreat is your doorway into that living tradition.

You’ll learn from and chant alongside practicing Yogis. You’ll feel the vibration move through your voice and into your nervous system. You’ll begin to understand what it means to align your breath, sound, and intention so fully that the state of your being begins to shift towards higher states of health and happiness.

This is sound as sādhana—a sacred method for turning life into practice, and practice into freedom from what holds us back from the fulfillment we are meant to know.

What You’ll Experience
Mantra Japa — repetition of sacred sound to purify thought and calm the mind

Kīrtan — collective call-and-response chanting that opens hearts and minds, cultivating the unity humanity has lost

Voice & rhythm training to unlock strength, joy, and confidence in all aspects of your life

Yogic pronunciation & meaning — drawn directly from lineage, with power and clarity

Meditation & breathwork to integrate the support of Nada Yoga into your daily life

The rhythm of Ashram life — a full weekend of real sādhana, practiced and lived with the Yogis of Sat Manav

A retreat with us is like stepping back into the ancient days of Yoga, when teachings were shared in close, personal circles. For this reason, we welcome only 4-8 guests for the full retreat experience, ensuring depth and intimacy. And while our guest count is small, you’ll be held by the presence of our 12 resident Yogis, embraced as part of the living family of Sat Manav.

What You’ll Take With You
A true connection to the power of mantra—something felt, not imagined

A daily sound practice to calm the mind, energize the body, and steady the emotions

Strength in your voice, clarity in your presence, and joy that doesn’t rely on circumstance

A sense of devotion made real—a connection to the sacred that travels with you

It was a true blessing to practice yoga, meditate, chant, tend the garden, eat amazing vegan food, and simply breathe in the beautiful natural setting with the ashram residents and the greater community of visitors.” ~ Shine
